So I'm starting my graphic design dissertation, and honestly I'm a bit unsure about how to pick a strong topic, and also how to even structure the research part, because it feels a little all over the place. Like, I know I have to do it but, sometimes I just can't see where to begin. What should I really know before getting started, in terms of the key things that matter most? And if you have tips for finding reliable sources, and avoiding the classic mistakes people make when they write a graphic design dissertation, I'd be very grateful. I mean, I don't want to waste time with random articles, or end up with a research direction that doesn't fit the whole project.
